Thousands watch enormous Manchester Marathon

Thousands of people lined the streets of Manchester to watch the 2026 Manchester Marathon.

Yohan Lidove was the winner of the race, which saw over 40,000 take part, with a time of two hours, 15 minutes and 18 seconds.

Callum Hall was the champion in the wheelchair race.

The race concluded at the University of Manchester after the runners have run past Old Trafford, the city centre, Wythenshawe, Altrincham and Sale. Thousands lined down Oxford Road as runners completed the final stages.

Celebrity appearances included the English comedians and writers Rosie Jones and Ivo Graham who run the race.

The run was described as having an 'electric atmosphere' in what some would say was another successful marathon.

The London Marathon will take place on Sunday 26th April.
