Labour has just been announced the winner of the Manchester by-election.
After none of the candidates won more than 50% of the vote in the first round, the by-election was forced to go into its second round; battling the top two candidates from Reform and Labour.

Sian Astley, Reform’s candidate, and Bev Craig, Labour’s candidate both went head-to-head in the votes as the second round opened for voting on who will be Mayor of Manchester.
