Rory McllRoy won the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award at Media City, topping off an incredible 2025 for the golfer.
The Northern Irishman become the first golfer in 36 years to win the trophy as he beat the likes of the Lionesses Chloe Kelly and Hannah Hampton and darting sensation Luke 'The Nuke' Littler to the trophy.
This follows one of the best years of his career as he was a main figure in Europe's incredible win against the US in the Ryder Cup and he completed his career grand slam.
The 36 year-old become only the sixth man to achieve the grand slam after he won the Masters at Augusta National, completing the set of all four majors, a feat he waited 11 years after winning the other three majors by 2014.
This made him the first European to ever complete the grand slam.
Then in September, Mcllroy won three and a half points for team Europe as they won the Ryder Cup in the US since 2012. This win was made even more special due to the abuse the Europeans faced in what could be described as one of the more fiery Ryder Cup tournaments.
In a year that he described as "the year my dreams came true", he said after winning the award "It is a pleasure just to be in this room along with so many dedicated people. I feel truly honoured to just be a part of it".
He added: "My family, my mum and dad, they sacrificed so much for me and I obviously wouldn't be here without them, so if you are watching Mum and Dad, thank you."
