A 28 year old man has appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court this morning charged with multiple sexual offences.
Aghan born Sultani Bakatashan is currently facing charges of two counts of rape of a child aged under 16 as well as one count of sexual assault, and one count of assault by penetration.
Police allege that Mr Bakatashan first made contact with the two 14-year-old girls online before arranging to meet them in a flat in Middle Hulton. Officers arrested him in the early hours of Sunday (7 December) after receiving a report of rape.
Chief Superintendent Helen Critchley, district commander for Bolton, described the incident as: “deeply concerning” adding: “Our priority is supporting the two young girls and their families at this traumatic time”.
Greater Manchester Police say that they are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident at this time and have urged the public against speculation to respect the dignity of the victims and avoid risk of prejudice against legal process.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police directly online or via 101 quoting incident 3573 of 06/12/2025. Details can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
